// German wedding facts..//

1) At some weddings, German couples arrange to have a large canvas with squares drawn in it. Each guest gets their own square to paint in, and when every square is painted, the bride and groom hopefully will have a mural to hang in their (new) home.

2) Another *traditional* German wedding custom is wearing your ring on the right hand after the actual ceremony. During engagement, the ring is worn on the left hand.

3) The bride wears white, like many other places, but the trains on the dress are usually very short, or have a lack thereof. Veils are usually never worn over the face, and are shorter.

4) On the eve of the wedding, china dishes are smashed for good luck. The bride and groom have to clean it up too :P

5) Some couples give out white ribbons for each guest to tie on the antenna of their car. They then sometimes drive around, honking the car horn for luck to the newlyweds. Anyone who honks back are wishing good luck also.

Either way, German weddings are similar to American weddings or weddings elsewhere, but they have their own distinctive little charm (:
